Time to get fancy with your footwork—crossing one paw in front of the other while gliding down the ladder. This drill challenges your rhythm, balance, and coordination like a bear dancing through fallen branches.

Instructions

  1. Stand beside the agility ladder facing forward.
  2. Step your lead foot into the first square, then cross the trailing foot over and in front into the next square.
  3. Continue crossing one foot over the other while moving laterally through the ladder.
  4. Repeat in the opposite direction after completing one pass.
  5. Stay low, controlled, and rhythmic throughout the movement.

Benefits

  • Improves lateral coordination and footwork.
  • Enhances agility and quick direction changes.
  • Strengthens hip mobility and dynamic control.
  • Great for sport-specific movement and injury prevention.

Key Points

  • Keep knees bent and body low for stability.
  • Focus on smooth, controlled crossovers—not just speed.
  • Stay light on your feet and use your arms for balance.
  • Maintain a forward-facing torso as your feet cross over.

Common Mistakes

  • Crossing too wide or stepping outside the ladder.
  • Letting posture break or torso twist excessively.
  • Dragging feet and tripping on the ladder.
  • Losing rhythm and skipping ladder rungs.
